Deserts, Mountains, Oceans, Oh My!

Can you believe I have been sick for 5 weeks! Yep, I came down with something just before New Years when we arrived to Desert Pool Hot Springs.  I used my oils and felt it could have been worse…but the coughing (most likely made worse from my asthma, lingered and lingered on).  Then 2 days ago I came down with a sore throat I thought I was in store for another round of something, but I feel better today thank you doTERRA!  No one else fell under the weather again thanks to the oils, we diffused them as well as put them on the soles of our feet.  Until Doug started with a sore throat 2 weeks ago, our daughter’s bo was fighting something and I suppose he caught it when he let his guard down as I was on the mends.

On the bright side, we spent 3 glorious weeks at Desert Pools Resort, a wonderful little oasis near Palms Springs, Ca. They have Mineral pools fed by hot springs from deep in the Earth.  It felt so healing, wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else during my sickness. The sites were spacious, the park itself had much to offer, with putt putt golf, pickle ball, etc.  Not to mention the heated pool and kids crafting. We explored the desert and enjoyed the Thursday night Street Market, as well as, our trip to Joshua Tree.  Doug spent much of his climbing years there.  Beautiful land formations.

While there we also wanted to do some hiking in the nearby mountains.  Doug found a short hike to Heart Rock Falls, but on the way up we found ourselves in a winter wonderland, with icy snowy roads and trails to this special spot but we made it and loved it!

From there we went south to Oceanside, where we spent time with our daughter.  The sites at Oceanside RV park were livable…but they were tight and it didn’t have much to offer, but who can complain when the ocean was just across the street!  We did lots of fun family things while there, bowling, fun parks, dinners out and game nights in.

We were blessed to have the chance to walk through the Meditation Gardens in San Diego. Beautiful views and awesome Koi fish!

I enjoyed my first Acai Bowl, it was deeeelish!

We spent last week at Pechanga RV Resort.  I have to say the sites were amazing, spacious, it was clean and well kept.  But the Casino and 10 Restaurants part was disappointing.  I was looking forward to this but apparently they are under construction while expanding and the only way in and out of the casino was to take their shuttle, they discouraged us to drive.  Which dropped us off at a central entrance, where you walk through the smoking section, not to mention, it looked like every restaurant was off that smoking section, making it pretty gross smelling.  Needless to say we didn’t eat there not once and it left us really disappointed with the experience.  Well, I leave you with this shot of their Chinese New Year display…Happy Chinese New Year…Year of the Rooster!
