Silver Spur and Cascade Meadows RV Resorts….

We were so looking forward to visiting Bend again…we really enjoyed it on our way up and thought it would be fun to visit it on our way down and see some falls and do some hikes.  On our way down from Washington we had to take a night in Salem…so not to drive too much at one time…so we decided to do a two night stay at Silver Spur so we could see Silver Falls while here.  While there Keagan tried fishing in their pond and caught his first fish!  By the end of our stay he caught 10 fish!  This resort was quaint and clean with an awesome pond!  They didn’t have much by way of amenities, no pool, no laundry facility…but we were only there for 2 night so it was all good.

Then it was off to East Oregon where we came up against some wildfires…it was pretty smoking when we arrived, thought during our stay we had a few clear days to explore.  We camped at Cascade Meadows again, this time the pool was open and the weather much warmer despite the smoky air. We visited Sisters but the wildfires were close and it flared up my asthma, so we weren’t able to enjoy it much.  But our favorite place to hang out, once again, was Sunriver.  We rode bikes on their many trails, we even rode by baby deer.  Keagan enjoyed the park and the lake where they fished as well and he caught his 11th fish…Dad 0, LOL but they still had fun.

Doug took his work vacation here and was able to relax and enjoy some much needed down time.

We went to the Newberry National Monument and saw various stages of Lava stones…Obsidian, Lava Rock and Pumas stone.  We also did a few hikes, one of them was to Paulina Falls.

Off to the coast where we plan to see the 2017 Eclipse from Florence Oregon!
