Mercury Retrograde

Are you familiar with Mercury Retrograde? Well, all the planets orbit the sun from east to west…so when Mercury’s orbit turns from west to east, that’s what has come to be known as Mercury Retrograde.

But is it really going in reverse?

No, it’s an illusion…imagine riding in a car and driving faster a train next to you going in the same direction. It appears to be going backward, right? But it really isn’t. Well, this same illusion happens when our plant passes Mercury on our orbit around the sun. Mercury is moving slower than us causing the illusion that it’s moving in retrograde. Illusion or not when this happens and it does three times a year for about 3 weeks, it is blamed for many mishaps.

My understanding of astrology…

is limited. But I heard how Murphy’s Law (if something can go wrong, it will) has come to be known as the astrological signature for this crazy time. It’s blamed for miscommunications to mechanical issues and everything in between that goes array. On the surface, it looks like it’s hitting me hard this time. As it seems I can’t get a breather in between all the recent challenges that keep presenting in our life. 

We’ve had a set back in our finances, topped with unexpected tire issues leading to replacing them on our rig, our generator up and quitting on us after two years, with no hope of repair, and now an unrepairable flat on our truck. All while we’re trying to make our way to Texas, to an intensive training event that I’ve been planing on for months now. So, while all of this can be overwhelming to the average person…to someone like me who’s default is stress and worry…well…I’m sure you can understand.

But there’s another way to look at this precarious time.  It offers us an opportunity to raise our consciousness, be present. Get real…to check in with our emotions, thoughts, and feelings, especially those we left hidden and unprocessed.

So, we all know life happens…not just during Mercury Retrograde. There is much in life we can’t control after all we are here to have experiences…good and bad. So when life happens…What do you do?  How to do you move through it, rise above it?

This is how I move through it… 

By shifting the energy. How? through…

  • Supporting my Mind, Body, and Spirit, with Essential Supplements and Aromatherapy.
  • Connecting to my Mind through Meditation/Prayer. The language of our Mind is words and affirmations.

  • Connecting to my Soul through Sacred Ritual and ARTuals. The language of our Soul’s symbolism.

I have a powerful medicine pouch after many years of learning various modalities and sacred practices for my own healing journey. I’ve learned to allow myself to feel my feels and then use the tools that will support me at the time. 

Navigating life with mental health isn’t easy but it’s not impossible. We just have to step back, witness our patterns and commit to ourselves to create a change in how we show up in relationship to the challenges. It isn’t easy, I’ll be the first to admit it…but we do have a choice. In fact, our choices are limitless. We just need to do our best to step back and get creative in choosing the life we want to live into.
